| The good thing is that it was a pretty new car, so you can be sure that it was in decent nick to start with. Cars are a lot hardier than people think, make sure any bodywork is sorted and give it a bit of a drive to ensure that there is nothing remiss with the handling (might have to be done when you get it back). Generally, they do look over it quite well and do chassis alignment checks and whatever.
Photos, receipts etc are all useful to an extent.
