I recently had 3M/Scotchgard Paint Protection Film professionally applied on the nose, headlamps, and mirrors of my red MK5. After only a month, I can already tell it is going to be worth every penny of the $500US it cost. It's guaranteed for five years and you can maintain it just like it's paint.
