Im not gonna bitch to much as its the joys of having a R32. Took my MK5 to vagtech today in milton keynes for a full service and to get a couple little jobs done but they found a big problem. The rear bushes for the front wishbone where shagged so it caused bad wear on the front tyres so on the inside edge there was the wire from the tyres showing. Made me full abit sick coz they could have just blown anytime. But all done now there was a couple other things that need doing at some point but I was cleaned out almost a bag of sand today so I mite wait until the end of june unless anyone thinks I should get these next jobs done sooner? I got my haldex service done at 40K and the service I had today was at 60K and they said I should really do it every 20K? I know most hard core people would get it done every 20K but do you think I would get away with it until it reached 80K? Money is tight and looking at the service book it says change every 40K. Then 5 fault codes came up 008576 bank 2 system too rick off idle, 008568 bank 1 to rich again, 000257 mass air sensor, 0008585 bank 2 too lean, 008583 bank 1 too lean all intermittent. Now I had this last year and the car was running really shit and you couldnt really drive it. Vagtech found the breather pipe was broke on the charcoal so it was replaced and was fine for 3 or 4 months and then it came back but not as bad and it only seemed to happen every couple of weeks for 5-10 mins then go away. They did a visual check and theres no sign of a air leak and the MAF was changed twice before the charcoal pipe was done. If the fault comes back they said it mite be a wiring/earth problem so has anyone had this before? Other then that its all good so wot do you guys think I should do? I just had open wallet surgery :argh:

I'm going to take my MK5 R32 in for a full service with a local independent as my so called FSH is a little short, I'm thinking it was done by the previous owner himself. I know they need the Haldex tool, but Paulie is going to kindly lend me his. The lads at the garage have told me to source all of the consumables myself from VW.

Can someone tell me what I need to buy and quantities of each? Part numbers would be even more helpful. I'm talking oil, plugs, haldex oil and filter etc. Anything else too.

Thanks :)

Well ive had my MKV for a week and even tho i said it was going to stay standard as i wasnt planing on keeping it for too long....

BUT... Its been Lowered 40mm, Carbon Wrapped roof and De-cat yesterday :top:
And the Milltek is on order

i was wondering whats the best route to go down with it mapping wise?

i live in North Wales but work in Manchester so any places in this sort of area would be good.

sorry about having no idea but this is my 1st VW and 1st time ive been with no turbo.

i had Motorsport Development in Blackpool live map my RS Focus and that was awesome but also very ££££, but what do you guys do with the MKV?

im not going to spend much more other than induction kit, decat, milltek performance wise

so what would be best for me?

cheers guys
