Morning, my car should hopefully be collected today and took to the garage for repairing, i have requested to be with the car when its assessed.
The garage told me that was standard procedure by themselves on all stolen vehicles.
Now i know im going to be picky but is it worth taking photographs of the car with me or is this being stupid?
Any help is much appreciated
Chris

Mate, really feel for you right now. I'd be gutted in your situation.
Anyway, one of the guys I work with totalled his TVR a few month ago. It made a huge difference in the offer the insurance company made provisionally too the final offer they made when he submitted loads of photos, adverts for similar vehicles, letter from a TVR dealer/mechanic giving a valuation, and proof of regular servicing.
I know its not quite the same as your situation but anything is worth a go to make sure they repair to mint condition or pay out the highest value possible if its wrote off.
Good luck mate, hopefully this will all be sorted quickly so you can get on with a normal life.

If they are going to repair it.One thing I would want to know is what happens if anything mechanical goes wrong with it like clutch goes or gear box as you have no idea how it has been driven whist it was stolen.
Good luck fella go over it like a rash man!
Fill the camera with every single damaged panel parts etc even down to last bolt!!! More the better
I think it safe to say the garage wil be ok with it.
I wil be unsympathetic insurance company wil be the hard one.

well im taking my spare keys, its not been started as the little scums ran out the car with the keys. So going to start her up and listen aswell.
I was a Valetor for Jag before i went into teaching so the car will get a full look. Its like Paulie has said, main issue is mechanical side, im going to request a break down of the mechanics assessment on this aswel

The good thing is that it was a pretty new car, so you can be sure that it was in decent nick to start with. Cars are a lot hardier than people think, make sure any bodywork is sorted and give it a bit of a drive to ensure that there is nothing remiss with the handling (might have to be done when you get it back). Generally, they do look over it quite well and do chassis alignment checks and whatever.
Photos, receipts etc are all useful to an extent.
Good luck!
