For me i think my R is lacking power,
ive no idea if its common or if theres a problem,
just sometimes if i put my foot down, the car dont have that instant reaction, its as if the car hasnt noticed me put my foot down, mainly 2nd and 3rd gear. just seems to take a while to build up the power, if you see what i mean
cheers
Sounds like clutch slip!

Is it currently completely standard?
Mine did this and it was very obvious, and when I took it to Awesome for the rolling road day they even commented on it. For some reason it wasn't giving full output until after 3k rpm.
At what revs are you talking about?
My advice would definately be to get a remap!
It could also be something wrong with the Drive-by-wire throttle.
Is it a MKIV as it could need the 6463 ECU firmware update.

my old engine used to do this, and also when flooring it at lights it would feel like the revs got stuck in certain places..
On my new engine this does not happen and I'm assuming it's because it came with updated software...
Edit to make these statements a bit more helpfulTherefore I suggest as above, try either getting VW to put the 6463 update on (most dealers dont know what it is!) or getting a remap

yes the car is totally standard, ive only had it 4 weeks so still getting used to it, but i know for sure it shouldnt be doing what ive reported, id say as u said above after 3k its ok,
how much wld i expect to pay for a remap???
and also what differences would i notice in the car all round ??
thanks pal
thanks mate, its sounds similar to me, sort of like the revs getting stuck if you like, more like say, if im in 2nd gear and slow right down, go over a road hump and then floor it, it isnt always instant power, there is some power but not right away, sort of the rev counter gets to 3k and then i take off, its a bit like a turbo kicking in i guess, the same happens in 3rd gear too, its like the car has a delayed response to what i want it to do,
ta for your help
Remaps start at about £300 at the moment I think. Depends who you want to travel to in order to get it done.
Remaps generally improve the power delivery, making it smoother, but also give you a bit more power and the rev limiter gets raised to around 7,200rpm. Remaps are usually done when other engine mods are carried out, such as an exhaust or air filter/induction kit, as there are more gains to be had, but you can have just the remap if you're not into modding and I'm quite sure it will cure the hesitation you seem to be getting![]()
Couldnt have pit it better Matt![]()

cheers matt, i will look into that, when i get some pennies, all going on fuel at the moment lol,
Is the extra oomph at 3k revs not just the V6 kicking in??
maybe it is irish as this is the first V6 engined car ive ever owned, but to me as i say above, so such a powerful car is seems to take a while to feel the power, like as soon as i over over a road hump and put my foot down it just doesnt respond straight away,
