MoT and Service Pricing
wife Ford Ka needs a service and MOT, and looking at the prices of kwikfit, £99 all in sounds a good deal
or is it best not to trust the alikes even on the KA?
any other recommendations for a Ford at bristol?

My old Polo 1.4 went in for the same reason, great price. Can't see how anything could go wrong with the servicing but don't forget it's only an oil change service. The MOT was a joke, they failed it on a total of about 7 items, took it to another local MOT centre the same day, passed with flying colours. Was also very suspicious that EVERY failure item was something they could 'fix' for me at kwikfit!

In my opinion, Kwik Fit do tyres, that's the point of them. Their fitters aren't always the best, and after I watched the muppet apprentice kid inflate my new tyre to about 1000psi to get it to pop onto the rim, and then ever since had to inflate it every couple of days because it now leaks from just about everywhere... Well I worry about their ability to do their primary job, never mind about the new extras they offer. For £99 you aren't going to get much. Remember if there is something wrong with, say, the brakes, you want a proper mechanic to spot it on the ramps, not for your wife to find it at 90mph. Ask around at work, a personal recommendation of a good local mechanic is always your best bet. Nobody wants to p*** away money, but when it comes to safety I wouldn't want to pay peanuts to monkeys.
Never have or will trust them had dealings years ago as above had free mot but said it failed but passed elsewhere would'nt trust um or let um loose with a can of wd40

lol I like how you added "not for the R" as when I first read the title I thought "he can't taking taking his R to..."

I take my works van into Kwikfit as my company has an account with them. I hang around during whatever job they're doing on it, usually on my lunch break so I get to see them working on it. Wouldn't trust them with the steam off my pish, let alone taking the R in there.
However, it would seem the problems I've encountered with the Kwikfit's around my working area, is that they have high staff turnover so no one ever seems to know what they're doing.![]()

My ma took her car there and they took not only her eyes out but also her arms and legs!
Said that her car was dangerous and that the brakes needed replacing and the exhaust was blowing....oh yes....and tyres....f*ing monkeys!
