I have a 3G that's jailbroken and so far I haven't found any cons with it. Basically you can change how it looks, sounds and if you're so inclined you can even find ways to get free applications. I am no expert so I'm sure there is a lot more you can do. I haven't unlocked mine as I've got an 02 contract so there's no point.

It's simple to do just look on iclarified.com and use redsn0w (is it ok to put this here?) if you use a pc. Not sure what you use with a mac.

It will revert back to unjailbroken if you update it but it normally only takes a short time for somebody to come out with the latest jailbreak. So you could just hold off and update then.

Hope this helps.

When 3.1 is released (in September I believe, most likely on September 9th) you will have to wait for the iPhone dev team to release an updated yellowsn0w or redsn0w which enables the iPhone to be jailbroken.

If you jailbreak now, yes the warranty will be void.

You can reverse the jailbreak procedure if you wish.

Are you on O2 at the moment ie with a working iPhone or do you want to jailbreak and unlock your iPhone for use on another network?
