      Default To Activate Headlamp Washer

      Hi All

What is the trigger to activate the headlamp washers/spray? I do achieve this from time to time but without intention.

Is it a particular set frequency or how long you hold the lever to spray your windscreen which then activates it?

      thanks
      Bernard

It is when the main beam lights are on and you pull the stalk to spray the windscreen. On mine it does it every time I do this, but I believe that the MkV does it every 3-4 times or something

I always thought it was every 5 pulls on windscreen washer stalk on a MKIV with headlights on...I am sure thats how mine work.

I'm sure if you hold the stalk for longer than 5secs or so the headlamp washer comes on?

That's the way mine worked on the Mk4 hold down for 5 seconds or so, but the Mk5 it has a mind of it's own if you don't want the Mk5 to wash the head lights turn off auto head lights.

      I think that works....

On my Mk5 I just do really quick squirts and that works......
