Default Haldex Oil Filter - MkV

Does a MkV Gen2 haldex have an oil filter?

Im pondering future servicing. Its approx £50 for the Haldex oil change and £120 for Haldex oil and filter from VW.

I was given the impression the Mk4 has a filter and the MkV doesnt. Is this correct?

If it doesnt fine. If it has a filter should this be done at 40k?

      Thanks

Yes it does, and yes 40K (though 20K is a good idea). However, £120 is Very high, shop around, and try an independent VW specialist

      Thanks Toffs!

Whats your thoughts on my local vw dealer prices:....
      40k Service - £330
      DSG Oil/Filter - £162
      Haldex Oil - £52
      Haldex Oil/Filter - £120
      Front Discs/Pads - £338
      Front Pads - £134

Does anyone get any cheaper prices with VW?

Im happy to start looking at independants but some quoted as much as VW and wanted £120 for spark plugs too.

Realistically my next service will require (40k, DSG, Haldex @VW totals around £610).

My service isnt due. Just doing my homework before it is!

      Any advice?

Rich, I don't use VW any more just for servicing(mines an 06) just buy all the parts you'll need from VW and find a local specialist to fit......my last Haldex oil & filter change was around £60 using VW parts.

I'd also be looking to change all the fluids @ 40k IE brake & coolant etc.

Yes mate. VW do offer to match written quotes...ive emailed about 3 specialists on servicing brakes etc and some cost more than the dealer. One did quote £190 inclusive of plugs for the 40k.

I do think its money for old rope for fluid changes at vw!

I had the aircon service, brake fluid changed and 1st mot done yesterday. Im getting a new parcel shelf, boot release mech etc under warranty so quite pleased. Didnt ask them to do anything! They are recoding the stereo too but dont know what that means really. All seems to work fine!

If the pricing difference was marginal id be quite happy to get the dealer stamp. They seemed quite professional the other day!

VW dealers do tend to charge sky high prices for servicing, wouldn't worry too much regards the dealer stamp if you buy genuine parts & keep reciepts etc....

Get written proof of the £190 40k service, then get VW to price match it, bargain!

Any idea of parts price for a 40k service kit inc dsg/haldex?

Saw a few kits on ebay but they were for the mk4.
