| Yes it is, but not for that sort of money!
Get an online qoute from GAP and it should be way less than £200...

| Look, at ANY point in the cars life you are at risk for it being written off - if you look at the cold hard facts its just a silly way to spend £400. Most likely if you did have an accident (that was your fault) then it WON'T be written off, and the excess for your insurance will be less than £400 ! | | | |

| If you go for GAP insurance, on a back to invoice value, over a 3 year period, which should cost less than £200: In the event of your car being written off for whatever reason, GAP will cover the difference for what the insurance boys say its worth [not a lot] and what you paid for it. I think this might put a smile on my face if this was to happen after 35 months..... | | | |

| I would always get GAP on an R32 ... they are a very "nickable" car yet the GAP insurance premiium is just the same as a Hyundai !! (i.e the risk of it being stolen is not reflected in the GAP premium)
All IMHO

| All car garages make a huge profit on selling GAP insurance. They were trying to sell me the same thing at £400. I refused telling them it was too expensive and Ill get it elsewhere then after the deal was done the salesmen had a private word in my ear saying he could do it for cost at £170!
I took this up as I will be devistated if anything happened and I didn't protect my purchase for £55 a year!
Totally down to personal preference mate.......

At that price, or the £155 quoted below its a different storey ! £400 is a total rip off.

| I'd make sure it was a VW gap insurance, as my AA didn't cover things like ipod connection, supagard etc. However when my red gt 170 tsi was stolen and used in armed robberies as a getaway vehicle, i got 14 grand insurance, and about 4 gap, despite paying about 20 grand for the car. Despite this, i wouldn't buy an expensive new car without it!
Hope this helps! | | | |

| Bleep when I brought my R over two years ago I brought my GAP insurance from VW and I should have looked in the internet for better prices , (I paid £299.00 I think back then )
Just hope that I don't need to use it though but it is always handy if anything happens !
