I'd say he's done you a favour mate. Your not lucky not to have had more points! I'm sure someone will be along to correct me if I'm wrong but I thought 20 mph over the limit was a 6 point offence?

Anyway - not the end of the world, take it on the chin and learn from it - like you say, your mpg might even improve as a result! Lol

God you are really lucky as that normally would be a ban for 14 days to a month if not more, let alone 6 points.

Not on every case. Usually a trip to court though where you would expect to get banned unless you had mitigating circumstances or very expensive and good legal people.

The A66 is a dual carriageway, not a minor road - and in some points 70mph. I don't blat it down 30's at 60 etc...

But yeah, know I'm lucky
