Just like to say how much i've enjoyed my R32 ownership and being a part of this forum, but due to the increasing costs of fuel, tax, insurance and other ownership cost. Ive sold up and bought a BMW 123d M-Sport which has a good balance of power, handling and economy.
All the best and thanks again for all the good advice, great forum

Another one bites the dust. All these familiar names seem to be disappearing from the forums :(
Good choice of replacement though![]()

MKV R32 SOLD ! NOW driving BMW 123d M-Sport
Ha, my problem is I keep looking on the 370z forum!
all the best!
Do people think the R32 is expensive to run? I think its quite reasonable....my only gripe is 425 tax but its not the end of the world!
VW Golf R32(2007) Black Metallic, 3 Dr, DSG, Luxury pack, Winter pack, Sunroof, Privacy glass, Ipod.
I had a customer come in this week with an Irish registered Audi Q7 that is 2100 euros a year on road tax.
So, I'm never going to complain about £425 a year again.

Woohoo a 123D
I came across one this week whilst driving home along my usual daily cross country b-road route home. Normally I drive like Sabastian Loeb on this route, That day I met a 123D coupe, OMG was it fast and well balanced!
When I got home I looked it up, didn't realise that it was packing 200bhp!
My little Skoda Fabia did well to keep up in the twisties!
Lush car mate, I'm sure you'll have loadsa fun in it!
I've had both an S3 & a 330cd. My average (according to DIS on average per fill up) was 24mpg in the S3, about 31 in the 330cd. It's only early days but my average is 20 in the R32. The engine note and driving experience is far too good to even care.
Enjoy the BM mate - The only thing the lack is a LSD.
I stepped out of my 330CI with all the bells and whistles to my R32.
It is just stacks more fun. The enjoyment of the drive is fantastic.
Everytimeis my face.
good luck in the winter mate my other car is a 120d MSport and it was a nightmare. My advice gets some winter tyres on a set of spare alloys. Ive just sold my Bimmer and kept the R32
I went from the R32 to the new shape 330i M Sport with all the toys on it and retractable hard top recently....... I still miss the R big time, I don't even wash the BMW, as I can't be asked as it doesn't give me the same appreciation. Its all about the exhaust note and thrill of the ride, you get neither from the BMW really.
R32 Mark 5 Silver DSG 5 door - Love it.

Wasn't the 123D m-sport the car that Clarkson ripped to shreds when comparing to the MKV R32?
He compared to petrol version I think.
Gooner

considering that many of r32 owners comes back to the "roots" I'll write:
"see you soon"

MKV R32 SOLD ! NOW driving BMW 123d M-Sport
i think clarksons gripe with the 130 was lack of rear leg room and boot space....not a big deal really.
I have heard stories from my mate with one that when the snow comes they are a nightmare. Story applies to all powerful rear wheel drive cars with fat tyres i guess!
Enjoy the car though! Im sure it will be quite potent and cheaper to run!
VW Golf R32(2007) Black Metallic, 3 Dr, DSG, Luxury pack, Winter pack, Sunroof, Privacy glass, Ipod.
I have just gone the opposite (BM to R32) - have to agree with fergy - good luck if we have a winter like the last one! BM's are a great car, but if you have the option (another car) dont bother to start the BM if there is snow foercast!
I also came from a BM, I have the E46 M3 and switched to the MKV GTI and then traded that in for the R32.. love the BMW but I have so much fun in the golf.
I love BMWs but they're right about how they are in the snow, but all rear wheelers are like that, friend of mine couldn't even get his 325 out of the drive when we had the bad snow this winter.
