Hi, could you do me a HUGH favour and let me know which of these two ideas you like the most, its for a viral video for Pirelli. Us petrol heads are the target audience thats the reason is ask for your help.

Thanks in advance.

Viral 1:
WOKE UP THIS MORNING

Open on digital alarm clock ringing showing 7am

Zoom back to show man lying in bed with crash helmet on.

Music comes in - Loud, grungy Blues (as Elbow “Grounds for Divorce” instrumental” OR Woke up this Morning - Alabama 3)

Man gets up dressed in boxer shorts & crash helmet.

As he stands up, he slips forward and smashes his head on the wardrobe.Falls out of view.

Cut to bathroom, man gets into shower, still wearing crash helmet, slips on soap bangs his head on shower cubicle, falls out of camera.

Cut to man walking downstairs in dressing gown & helmet. Focus on kids toy car (maybe a toy rally car) on step, as mans foot hovers above.

Cut back to see helmet disappear downward out of camera with sound of man falling down steps (thump thump thump).

Into kitchen as man slips on wet floor and bangs head on kitchen unit.

Fade to close up of man (head & shoulders), now dressed in yellow & red rally suit, putting on seat belt & starting up car. Car revs loudly. (Music kicks up a bit)

Cut to frame of outside - Rally car races off through forest, takes fast corners, over jumps, through finish line and then into car park where car skids into parking space parks backwards in between two cars.

View front of car. Text comes up:

Pirelli
They Grip

fade to

Sponsors of The World Rally Championship.

Text fades

Music Stops

Man gets out of car.
Hear door slam.

Man walks towards camera

Man slips & falls out of view (he says muffled ‘Doh!”)

Fade to:
DATES OF REMAINING STAGES OF RALLY
THE ONY TYRE OF THE WORLD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP

Fade to:
Pirelli Logo

.................................................. .....................

Viral 2:
IMAGINE A WORLD WITHOUT PIRELLI

High Contrast, desaturated colour (slight colour showing through, but almost black & white).

Gentle very slow Classical music (maybe just piano).

Fade up on cobbled street, terraced houses (maybe Saltaire). Pan over to man in full rally gear, helmet & overalls sweeping up leaves very slowly. Helmet visor down at all times. Man stops & leans on his broom. Sighs.

Fade to another man dressed similar (or same man as above). Close up on helmeted face.
Zoom out to see him sitting on old fashioned ice cream cart (bicycle). No one around. He sighs

Fade to hairdresser's shop, slow pan along a line of girls all washing old lady's hair in a disinterested manner, the last hair washer is man in full rally gear.

Fade to black.
Text fades up;

IMAGINE A WORLD WITHOUT PIRELLI....

text fades down

TEXT FADES UP

PIRELLI

THE ONY TYRE OF THE WORLD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP

Fade to:
DATES OF REMAINING STAGES OF RALLY.

Fade to:
Pirelli Logo

Thanks Chaps think we have a clear winner.

Wayne i think two would work great, it just take a little more imagination. ideally we will use both concepts.

Thanks again

Guy

No.1

Maybe change ending to:

Pirelli
They Grip

fade to

Pirelli Logo & 'Sponsors of The World Rally Championship' text underneath.

DATES OF REMAINING STAGES OF RALLY
THE ONLY TYRE OF THE WORLD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP

Text fades

Music Stops

Man falls out of car (outake style - maybe laughing cameraman audio or something).

Abrupt End

Just an idea, might be pap lol.

I like number 2. I find number one a bit too Benny Hill and think no.2 works extremely well as it's simple but effective and more contemporary and I can see it working well in video format - would get the message across better imho. I don't see pirelli as a comedy tyre so I don't think the whole comedy approach in no.1 suits the brand.

make the toy car in No' 1 a .:R then that will sort it out lol. But No' 1 sounds like it would be good but althoug No' 2 would be like said above a simple but effective. You should do both then post up the vids and see which one is better.
