ok - I know nothing about them but I want the following:

to be able to chat on msn

to be able to forward texts

to have my own ringtones and messgae sounds

Do it, the only people that say dont have not done it!

I can record videos, the camera is better (i have a different one which has more features) i can upload videos and pictures wireless to my computer or directly to youtube,photobucket and facebook. I have cool themes and sounds (unlock sounds, txts, ringtones) various cool apps you cant get on the appstore, i have mms, i can forward txts, i can copy and paste in safari (and other bits that are usually annoying)

Do it! It makes the phone what it should be, its pants unless its jailbroken!

Check youtube videos so you can see what they do. Its really easy, download quickpwn and run it with your iphone connected.

Job done. Use cydia (installer is poo) for your apps and join modmyi.com for any info.

Or blag wayne into jailbreaking it like he will mine later lol !

I got it jailbroken and added an sms application that allowed me to forward texts and another that let me have different ringtones. I wasnt that happy so restored it back to standard. I hope there is applications to do both without having to jailbreak it.

Just a shame that you had to do this as it should come like this from the factory though !

Is it working well and I assume you can still keep it updated etc ?
