you could always do what im doing, once the big badge is off, buy and colour code a smaller vw sharan badge - which incidentally sits nicely in the recess. will post some pics once ive done it but heres an example (original badge on left, sharan badge colour coded on right):

i think macdaddy has done that VC. Both colour coded badges (R32 or Sharan) look good to me!

I personally dont like the sharan badge as it shows the recess edge which just looks a little odd to me :(

Its also ok as long as your paint is fine under the badge as you may find the glue on the double sided tape has weakend your original paints etc. I know when I did mine the paint didn't look too great under the badge :(

my paint was fine underneath and all came off a doddle, new badge fits very nicely in recess too and was simple to colour code

Have you tried any body shops? Ask what they use, sure wouldnt cost very much if anything for the small amount you will need, I went to a body shop after having my badge removed and painted and they gave me half a jar of the liquid they use to remove the old double sided tape.

Have you looked for automotive tape (I have some 1" green double sided tape and it's very good)

Sorry but can't think where I brought it from ,as it was years ago.
