The Recaros for both MKIV and MKV look stunning, but a headrest screen on them is ugly as sh*t! that's why I would like the R36 seats, cause they seem to have a bigger headrest than the standard R32 = bigger headrestscreens

Are they R36 Recaroes or just standard R36 seats?

They'll probably fit but may be too wide. You can buy MkV recaro's from America but they are very expensive - bear in mind they are a £2.5k option in the uk, although that does include different rear seats as well.

Don't think you can order Recaros for R36, those are standards for R36 and 14-way adjustable (that's also a thing a like with the 36 seats)

Recaros were somewhere between €1.5-2K as option in Sweden, if I'm not wrong.

Is this the kind of Recaro seat that VW uses? or do they have custom made Recaros for VW cars?

If VW have kept to they're ways of building cars then they probably wont fit! - Passats have typically had A6 seat bolt positions (i have a b5 diesel passat as well and the rs6 leather seats bolt in the front but golf mk4/octavia/TT/leon seats dont) so i'd imagine these are the same.

Recaro will probably make all of vw's seats (apart from the konig's! lol) - the ones branded as recaro are for marketing, if you like them then go for them! -

the one above is a Recaro Sportster CS if i remember right, when you buy one from recaro direct they are simply normal adjustable seats that require the appropriate subframes for your car but they are used in the RS4 and badged 'RS4' not recaro and have airbags and electronic adjustment fitted, they will fit onto generic recaro mk4 or mk5 runners though so not to much of a problem!

Same as The Recaro pole positions you find in a mk1 TT QS - the TT ones are actually slightly taller than the ones you'd buy from recaro as aftermarket seats! - but will fit to the appropriate recaro subframe if you wanted to put them in a mk4 or 5!

      hope that helps!

Yes it does help alot, thanks man

I've seen something about the Recaro retrofit on this forum, but can't find that thread. But do VW retrofit the Recaros? and what kind of seat does the R32 have, its not at least the one the above picture...?

Recaros can be retro fitted, but you need to change the seat rails. A guy on TSN had Sportster CS's installed at APS and I think they look fantastic - link

what I ment was a VW retrofit, the OEM Recaros with the R32 badje. Is that possible?

Was recently checking the Recaro site, and noticed one thing on the CS pictures.. there's no height-adjustment!!? Feelin symphaty for Hammond, when he's getting picked on Top-gear for his height.. but I do think I'm shorter than him!

Well the mk4 r32 Konig seats fit into a mk4 tdi, so the seat runners which are integral to the monocoque shell are the same - with the volumes vw produce it would be crazy to produce 2 different type of runners as the piece price would skyrocket so i think you can be very safe in assuming that if you were to buy a set of MK5 R32 OEM recaros which are R32 badged they will fit straight into your mk5 :-)
