Cool glad you got her back - you got to run her in?
Andrew I am running it on a map that is slightly turned down i.e. 6.5k rev limiter, limitinmg the boost. The car is going back to JBS for a check up after 1500 miles to make sure everything is as should be. They will also be carrying out a oil and filter change and uprating my engine mounts when I am there. After this trail/bed n period is completed an adaptation will be installed to the car that will free up some more power.
So to answer your question yeah, I am taken it easy for now but there is still a massive amount of power available. I just kept asking James (JBS proprietor) why VW didn't do this in the first place. It would have made the r that wee bit more special. I love what James has done, the kit is so tidy. I have drove and seen the HGP360 kit and I can tell you mine would eat it for breakfast and the aesthetics are so much better. You wont believe how neat it all is when I post some of the pics.
Wait until I compile a full write up with pics and you will be amazed.

Glad you've got it back mate - nice one - very jealous![]()
wrk yeah this was the first one JBS had done, well I mean stage one and matts stage 2 even though they had done Andy's beast, hence the reason why it has been longer to get it back out but all I can say is that it was worth the wait!
As for cost I am not sure what the kit will retail at. The only person that can answer that is James at JBS. I would imagine at this point he wont be sure on cost as he will have to do all the figures.
Wehay Jackie , Glad that you have your car back as Matt said that you will get yours first , (Matt will get his still on the 28th ? , Well I hope so )
Cant wait to see pictures / and a full write up soon, as it will be a grest read .
Happy driving , well running in .

Looking forward to the updated pics and write up....sounds like its a bit of a beast!!
Well due to shit weather I never got to give the car a good clean which was disappointing so fingers crossed for this weekend.
Now first impressions of the car…..
Awesome, amazing, mind blowing etc. This is how the car should have left the factory! Only people at VW headquarters will know but my suspicion is that they did not want to piss all over Audi’s RS’s and S’s. The R is more than capable of handling the power that it now has. I was a little worried as I have not done bushes or up rated Haldex controller but there is very little need. Andy Smith, the owner of the JBS daddy conversion can vouch for this as he has been in my car, the power is smooth but there is that amazing turbo kick.
Anyway after 14 long weeks I had the call from James Silverstone to pick the car up, I know I was a little pee’d off at times with the length of time that the car was away but my god is it worth it…keep your head up Mattchaps. Remember this was the first stage 1 conversion they had done and was there development kit! I waited on James bringing the car in from his own house as he had been fine tuning the map on the car. As soon as I heard the V6 turbo (There is no better sound on earth) I just about creamed my pants!
James took me a run in the car just to prove the car was idling and driving as it should at low speeds. He then gave me my first run. OMG it was like having a new car, the R in standard form always made me smile but I found there was maybe just something lacking……I know what that s now a massive turbo! The adrenaline certainly was pumping.
I then had the 220 mile trip home to complete. A fill up of petrol and I was on my way. Now I was expecting the car to be a bit of a pain in the ass at low speeds but it is not in the slightest, in fact I would even go as far to say that its better now than it in standard form. So eventually I made it out of the traffic and onto the M1, coming off the slip road I gave the car a tickle, it bloody shifts, hitting big numbers before you know it. Anyway I wanted to gve the car a full test so this meant accelerating from low speeds high speeds etc. The car is absolutely faultless, everything does as it should. Anyway on my way home sitting at speed a focus ST came right up my arse, I laughed to myself and I though right lets show this twat! So I very kindly pulled in to let him by then back out to show him who was boss. I didn’t think he liked the fact that I sat inches off him and he eventually pulled up to let me cruise by, and by cruise I mean I was not even pushing the car hard. Apart from this one encounter the trip home was pretty quiet.
As you’s will be aware I have had my car back about a week now, It is still given me a throbber every time I drive it, the car is very much a novelty at the moment but I will be back in a run around soon to preserve the R. In my week of running it the car has not faltered once, the power is there when I need it yet the car is not much worse on fuel than it was standard form, if the car is out of boost it is practically the same, there is a difference when you boot it mind you but no where near as bad as I was expecting.
In comparison to the HGP cars I have been in and drove I have to say I know which kit wins for me…….JBS!!!! I drove Keith’s R32 HGP 360, although fast it would not even look at mine! Another big difference is the aesthetics between the two kits, once again it goes hands down to JBS as you will see from my pics. Don’t get me wrong the HGP400 and 460 kits are vey tidy too. As for my passenger ride in Rich’s 460 I would say watch out Rich.
Anyway that’s enough rambling on but there will be more of a write up soon and more pics, here’s a few teaser pics for now. . . . .
