Teaser: Int. VW Golf meeting in Denmark 2009 - R32OC

I think you all should know that next year we here in Denmark are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the danish GOLF club www.clubgolf.dk in the first week-end of August 2009. I know that propobly none of you will come due to the distance and price to get here - but it would really be fabulous if you could. A couple of years ago we had visitors from the U.K. GTI club at the int. meeting. It will be from Friday 31st. of July till Sunday August the 2nd. and as always you can stay over night in your own tent. If any of you have ever been to the GTI meeting in Venlo, Holland that they had some years ago it will be much like that.

The R32 is not a common car here in Denmark as the danish tax is making the car very expensive. Mine is a Mk. IV 09/2003, has run km. 80.000 and when I have payed the danish tax the price of the car now as used will be GBP 29.000-30.000. The price for a new mk. V model 2008 is GBP 57.000 (with DSG GBP 61.000) and that is without leather interieur. So you see there are not many R32 driving around.

Back to the meeting 2009. It will be special as it is our 25th anniversary. We are also inviting german clubs as well. Usually we have visitors from the german Corrado club and also a couple of cars from Sweden as well. The meeting is for all cars of the mark Volkswagen.

Well - this is just a teaser to tell you that we will be making something special. I will be posting more details later as we get them in place but we would love to see some of you if you are planning a vacation to Denmark !

- we need more details like where will it be though.

Just had a look and its only likely to be 15-16hrs drive and less than 1000miles each way.

As soon as I know what we will be renting for the meeting I will give you some more details. It might be an old air-field with a large lane or one of these lanes you drive taking your drivers license (don´t know the english word for such a facility) but I can promise it will be good and there will be lots of driving on closed facility and we hope to get a facility with a lane that large so that we can drive 402 meter - but as said more later. We are going to have a board meeting in club GOLF late Sept. or early Oct. and then I will know more !

This is the area we are going to rent for the 25th Anniversary event in the danish GOLF club ! This is one of the most popular Raceways in Denmark.

I'd defo be up for this! sounds like a blast! and if R's are so expensive there I'm up for importing them for 30000 GBP new! that's a nice profit on top any spreading some R love across Europe! hah

Now the date has been set to the week-end the 12. - 13. September 2009 from 10 o´clock.

I would be nice to see some of you at our 25th Anniversary meeting here in Denmark.

The price for entrance will be around GBP 30 including driving af the facility and it will be possible to overnight in our own tent for GBP 12 and that includes entrance to bath and all !

There will be quarter-mile event on Saturday the 12th.

I could well be up for this.

I might even try and have some thin veneer of business related reason to be there (we have an office in Roskilde) so that I can get the company to fork out for the fuel.

I love Denmark I go there a few times a year on business and really like the place. I like all of that part of Europe really.

Just had a quick look at this and it's 710 miles from mine if I go via Hull.
Which route would other people be taking if it happens?
Could be up for it if it's organised as a proper event?
Ferry from Harwich is £222 one way for a car+2 people just been looking.
Seem's I can't go to Denmark from Hull would have to go to Rotterdam first then drive from there.

It will be possible to overnight in your own tent just beside the meeting area. It will cost GBP 15 pr. tent incl. access to bathing-facilities - wich means if you have a tent for 4 persons it will only cost GBP 15 in all.

For those of you that wishes to stay overnight but not in a tent I would be glad to help finding some kind of bed and breakfast if you would want to. Send me a PM if you want some help.

We have just had a meeting with the owner of the facilities and it seems like we can start check-in from Friday 16:30 local time and that the activities will start from Saturday morning at 8 o´clock.
