I have discovered this afternoon :(
Not sure how long it has been like it quite a while i would imagine,

The bombhole cratered Crap british roads has destroyed my drivers side rear spring, it has snapped, i got the hump to say the least as i found the remains of the spring in a 4 inch deep crater in my road GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!

Now I rang the guys at AmD quoted around 250 notes to replace both rear springs(fitted), or they offered i can have it dropped on lowering springs for about 300 notes(fitted) about 25mm drop.......

Or do i take the opportunity to have the Coilovers(i want to anyways) ill prob go for the Weitec ones they recon about 600-700notes fitted,

So im asking will the springs be worth doing??? Also how will doing the coilovers affect handling and Haldex etc etc

Thanks in advance Mr Dougal
now going to cry.......

coilovers..... why are you going to cry broken rear springs are common on r32's.

won't affect the Haldex.....if you go low you will need adjustable rear tiebars to bring the rear camber back in check.....the handling will be better with coilovers.....
one thing i would also do is H&R over size anti rollbars it will be like a go kart then

Not going to cry for spring.....going cry for the wallet....hahaha

Ill probably end up with the coilys just want peoples opinions, and i dont drive it hard enough to want to spend KW v3 price, if that makes sense.... and i only want go to about 25mm at most Because i wont get on my drive any lower! the gents at AmD advised id be ok with out the control arms for 25mm.

couple guys on here rate the Weitecs, However i keep seeing really good deals on the AP ones, has anyone had any experience with these??? they are TUV approved so cant be that bad......?
Many thanks SB

Ive just had weitecs fitted and they are wicked. They are pretty much the same as the v1's(re-branded) but for less money.Really good ride quality for everyday use and height adjustable, what more do you want.I recommend them.

The thing with the KWs is as SB said, they're Inox stainless steel so you won't get any corrosion - the galvanised steel of the Weitecs & others won't last anywhere near as long.

That's the theory anyway.. has anyone had Weitecs or similar galvanised coilies for a while now with daily use? If so, how are they faring?

KW are really good, not tried the V1's or V2's but if I had the option I'd choose V2's as they are more customizable! V1's your stuck with the generic setup, so if its too harsh there isn't much you can do about it.

Its surprising how much you can get out of them

V3's are on mine, and they are a LOADS less crashy than the stock setup.

Would avoid AP's like the plague.

At the end of the day, the main thing is going to be your overall budget. Are you looking at just coilovers or do you want ARB's too?

Are you going to do any track work in the car or just fast road?
