Always been wary of plastering the model of car all over my keys.
Scenario: Loose keys/keys stolen in a shopping center or bar, some pikey finds them sees R32 written all over them, it's not going to be hard to have a scout around the carpark to find one and try the fob.

But if I lost a key with VW on it they could walk around the car park pushing the unlock button. Yeah, having the .:R logo makes it obvious they need to look for an .:R32 but there aren't going to be many of them.
Don't see the problem myself to be honest. Plus I'm yet to lose a car key.
I've had the .:R32 logo on my key since January and it looks good. I was put off the steering wheel logo because it just sticks over the VW logo and sits proud of it.

Please note that the size of the Steering Wheel Badge is 45mm and will only fit MK5.

The Key Fob Badge fits both MK4 and MK5.

I dunno perhaps it's just me, I just think it's making life a little to easy for a thief. With a simple VW branded key it could be any number of VW's in a carpark, the chances of finding which VW it was would take ages. However seeing R32 on a key fob would make life a little easier imo. And as you say, there arn't going to be many R32's parked up, so it's just a case of look for the R32 and chances are thats the one and off you go, joy ride heaven!

LOL! The thought never passed my mind. Then, keep your R safe by putting a GTI badge on the key.

Like a plonker..... I'm sat at my desk at work and see this post and think..... Mmmmm, let me look at my fob and then start to try to dig the VW logo badge out with a scalpel that I have lying about and have scratched the VW logo to bits making it now look sheeeet !
If I can be informed on how to remove the current logo I'll have an R one please ...... pppphhhhfffffffff !

Use a scalpel to prize it off - that's what I did.

I have an ebay contact for the Mk 4 steering wheel, they look great, there is a post in parts section of classified but they only suit the DBP really as they have a blue flash. Mine was 15 all in with key fob badge included. Looks great and is not scratched like old VW wheel centre.
DBP Mk IV, Leather, Cruise, Milltek res cat back, Milltek sports cats, ECS stage one braking, Evolution CAI, Poly Dogbone mount, Colour coded LCR Splitter, Engine Colour Coding, Aluminium Billets and two DBP Recaro baby seats!
Gone but not forgotten...and I will be back one day I'm sure!

The normal way is to push the badge to the right with your thumb and insert the blade in the left edge and pry it right out. The MK5 badges are stuck on by double sided tape. However, I've known of some MK4 badges that are glued onto the keys. In this case, one customer told me that he drilled a hole in the middle of the badge and it came right off. Please don't try this at home.

I have received many requests for this. Unfortunately, it's very difficult to get a hold of a MK4 steering wheel here. Without the steering wheel in my hands, there is no way to get the correct convexness of the badge.

Have you bought it? I am a bit confused myself. As far as I know, the MK5 badge is 45mm and the MK4 badge is 55mm in diameter. From the photos, it looks like the badge is 45mm, so it will cover the whole MK5 badge and just the VW logo on the MK4.
