| Just after a rude experience from a new member selling items on the site. I think it would be wise to put some sort of restriction on new users advertising in the classified section. It seems some members are only signing up just to advertise parts on the site, surely this isn't adding value to the site, only leaving dead users once there kit is sold or they have ripped someone off.
I know others have had some bad experiences buying parts from new members and not receiving what they expected.
Suggestion of a minimum of 100 post restriction before new members can post in the classified section. Most other forums go by these rules.
Just a thought.
Cheers
Dave

| i agree with all the above
i notified an admin after a guy trying to sell a car which wasn't true
one forum i have been on requires a full membership application i.e. form, payment to access full site to be able to post on all forums, otherwise restricted to a newbie section. however this caused alot of topics in newbie section
can't remember the cost but was something like £10 and we got forum/club ID, car stickers like the R32OC.com stickers, and club cap.

| I agree with the first post, has my full support.
you could have a system like this
more than 100 posts = free advertising
Less than 100 posts = Pay £10 per item for sale.
That way people who just join to sell, will have to pay and Wayne makes a little money to maintain and update the site.

anyway theres scammers on all forums to be fair. but this is a must an i think it shud be 200 just to be on the safe side an stop folk from just spamming the place to get the 100 so they can sell an rip sum1 off . . .
Its worth the change...

Shaun | I thought payments for non members would be a good idea.. If its R32 kit they have this site makes it a great tool for selling kit.

| I guess you could have two sales sections, one internally, only available to full members or people you choose to allow, have to be authorised to sell there, and to possibly view. That weeds out bad sellers and you can pretty much guarantee people in this section will not abuse it. You control the sellers. The other for general use where anyone can post. Like a small mine field if you will...
Whatever you do, if anything, I guess it would all need more time in terms of admin or policing.
Great site. | | | |

| Totally agree, there is a set of mkIV alloys for sale on the site that were for sale on ebay and the auction was stopped seconds before it ended and reposted on ebay and then on here. Total scam. | | | |

| i do think a minimum post idea would be good although im always wary of sellers with low post counts anyways. it pays to be carefull and do your homework before buying. Ive bought loads from members on here and only had one bad transaction for around £20. still it would have been better if it hadnt have happened | | | |

| I agree with the 25 posts rule for selling, however having to have 10 posts just to be able to see links or images is crazy? | | | |

| I agree Globe, I want to BUY but can't ask any questions to sellers or post a wanted thread coz I don't have enough posts. The reason I don't have enough posts? Because I'm a new(ish) owner, know very little and I have nothing new to say on here that 100 other people haven't already said better than me. Completely understand restrictions on sellers, but not on buyers.
PS, has anyone got one original Mk4 alloy they wanna sell? | | | |
