Got a great deal from James at Sky. A good £450 cheaper than my current insurers renewal (which had gone up by 50% this year). Very pleased.

Was happy and didn't sound like a drone or disinterested like some of the other insurance companies I've been phoning over the last few days!

I did ask Chris Knott but they were unable to insure me due to being under 25!

Good to know that they insure under 25s, I'll be 24 at my next renewal. Did they cover any mods you have?

Called them up yesterday, and they refused to insure my new Clubsport S, locked up in a garage, which is going to be used less than 1k miles per year - because I have 0 years NCB on a brand new car I have just bought..

Yep, that makes sense..

Won't consider other previous 'sporty' high insurance category car you've owned in the past?

I have 1 year currently on my R32, but no, they wanted a minimum of 3 years, even though I am 37 with a clean licence and my previous NCB (which has expired) was over 5 years..

Waste of time, as was Adrian Flux.

I find these so called "specialist" companies very archaic, with inflexible options and most technically flawed online quote systems.

Bell Insurance have insured my R32 for £1500 less than Adrian Flux, not to even mention Adrian Flux's price to insure the Clubsport S - £3k!

From my experience Sky are the better option out of the specialist insurers who have a presence on here. I found the others wouldn't quote me or came back with daft figures. Currently insured through Keith Michaels who were surprisingly cheap. It literally is a case of ringing as many brokers as you can, someone will quote you happy somewhere.

Did you ask your previous insurer how they justified a 50% increase lol, that's insane

One thing I have noticed with my various insurance policies is that since I've started paying annually using an Amex Card, which does not allow auto renew, the renewal figures are much more sensible and competitive. I may just be being cynical but it looks as though if they know you definitely will be reviewing your policy and have to call them to renew they don't seem to take the pi55. Whereas if they are likely to catch you out and your policy auto renews they will take the pi55.

I asked for a quote on my S3 last year.  They couldn't quote me as it was unmodded they said??????

Hahaha raiden.

That's an even better story than mine.

They are literally clueless at Sky Insurance - no idea why they call themselves "specialists" - they know nothing about cars.
