Will be collecting my mk4 r32 on Thursday...bloody excited.

I know they aren't acomplete guarantee, but I would like to buy a steering lock.

Any recommendations?

Cheers

I have the disklok.  By far the most secure.  But its a real pain

1. Getting the key in the barrel can be a real chore since bits of it spin independently and you cant really see what you are doing without a telescopic neck

2. Its BIG.  Not simple to just chuck it in the back.  You end up really having to put it into the boot

3.  Get the steering wheel cover or it will scratch your steering wheel.

Sometimes all this means that you will not bother putting it on if you are just popping somewhere since it's such a faff which kind of makes it less secure to some extent.

I guess there is that old security vs usability question.

Appreciate it though.

this is what always puts me off using one. bit like having an a house alarm that people dont use!

theres loads of other ways to stop it been nicked. i like the 'kill switch' that people wire up in a unusual place.

the mk4 is alittle bit older but pretty sure it will have a thatcham alarm? - bob to confirm?

sad fact is most cars are stolen with keys from house burgs :-/

im more concerned about jealous t*ts damaging it in - keying etc - and thats why i got black and not blue :-( again, a sad fact i selected the colour on the impact dregs of society can have. im still cautious of where i park it

I always laugh at a boy at work putting one of this things on his shitty Astra when there is a 3 year old Maserati GranTurismo sat next to it
He walks round it 3 times trying the doors proper ocd
