| just fitted mine today, great help. For me i found when you are doing the passanger side stand next to the battery looking towards the back of the light. Its easier to get to the bulb rather than standing over it from the front of the car!!! Love this forum this saved me ages of time | | | |

Miss the brizzol meet. I'm a total novice but with the guide it was a piece of piss. For me tho I found the passenger side easier LOL. Found that it was made easier if you took both plastic bits off because as smeone said it allows better access.

Tools
Philips screwdriver
Torx driver (T25)
Long flat blade screwdriver Step One | I recognise those screws lol. I just got hold of some stainless steel ones for my mate's Leon Cupra R which has the exact same engine bay trim in that area.
Only took pictures of off side engine bay area though

| Hi, great guide!
Quick question though... Quote: |
I also undid the wire plug on top of the light to give me more space.
| Does this plug just pull out, or do I need to undo any clips or anything else to get it out?
Thanks | | | |

| The only clips required for changing the sidelights is the ones closing the actualy light assembly. Its more like a catch you clip off, you then have access into the rear of the light. http://laudeman.com/volkswagen/golf_headlight.html | | | |

| You mean the big metal clip which pulls outwards towards the wing?
I undid that one and could see where the bulb is, but there's no way I can get my hand down to the bulb (even with the battery cover removed)
It seems to be that wiring plug that's in the way

| OK, you were right - just needed a bit more determination to stuff my hands in!
Really wish I'd done the one on the side other last year myself, rather than paying a hundred and something quid for the garage to do it. Bumper off job my a***!

| Dele they are illegal in that colour unless they were indicators.
They should be white light only. However you'll get away with them if they are xenon coloured.
otherwise you risk a £30 fine.

| Top guide easy and simple to understand!! Quick to do and brilliant results! LED's are the way to go the number plate lights are next now!
But i will have to say you do lose abit of skin trying to get your hands in to change the bulb long nose pliers go a long way!!!
Top guide!
