Default How do I fit a boost gauge to my R32!

      Hi,

Just bought a New south Performance boost gauge and pillar pod,

I have VF stage 1 charger fitted and want to know where I connect my nylon pipe to,

I see on 1.8t your connect into the fuel pressure reg, is it the same for the r32??

Also how do you attach the pod to the pillar?

      Thanks in advance,

      Tom

Cant help with where to fit it on a Charger but why dont you buy one of those a-pillars with the built in gauge holes.

Either that or fiberglass it in and recover it with fabric but it'd be difficult to get it to match the average roof lining.

I remember seeing a photo once of a Boost read out on the standard MFD, I think it was the Red HPA Bi-Turbo R32 from about 2004. I assume it was a re-write using VAG-Tacho or possibly a box of tricks pressure transducer/output added into the system after the ECU?

it just scrolled into the standard selection controlled by the stalk:

MPG -> Av MPG -> Miles Till Empty -> Boost -> etc.

That was a really nice OEM+ addition I thought, and meant you didn't have to drill your dash or add extra pods. Not sure how frequently it refreshes the figure though, if it's owt like the MPG it's changed by the time you've changed gear, lol!

      In a bit,
      Leon.

yeah i looked into one but not cheap and apparently not particularly accurate. for a boost gauge i drilled and tapped an alu pipe and fitted a nipple for the nylon pipe then i cut the boost piping and fitted the metal pipe in-between. Im not sure of another way or somewhere else you can fit it TBH though.
