Here is my wifes car up for sale:

      · Climate controlled air conditioning (ice cold!)
      · Electric windows/mirrors
      · ABS/ESP
      · CD Player
      · Limited edition Recaro seats in Black/Red
      · Exclusive black roof lining

      · Bailey diverter valve
      · Fully adjustable coilover suspension.
      · Whiteline adjustable ARB
      · Original parts available if required
      · Plus all the usual GTi refinements…
      · 85k FVWSH

Please note the front and rear lights in the pictures are not included but are available separately.
The car will come with its original factory darkened lights.

Truly been pampered and the only reason we are contemplating its sale is the recent purchase of a bigger car.

      Thanks for the comments guys.
Its up for 6495 which is the cheapest one out there with this spec and condition.
Open to offers as it has to go.

but loathed to let it go as it drives better and is quicker than my R

"but loathed to let it go as it drives better and is quicker than my R".

Not being funny but I would get your R32 checked for ECU update etc as you should spank the GTI Turbo even if it can get away in 3rd gear for a bit...

My Mrs has just sold her GTI Turbo (again Black MKIV - 187,000 miles) and she did not have a prayer of keeping up with me in my R32. She has now got a MKIV 2.0GTI which she says is doing 45+ MPG even when planting her foot down - wanted less fuel bills.

I don't know about that fella. Its only 20hp down on an R, and what with the difference in weight and less loss in hp through the transmission, I'd say it would be interesting!

In the wet though, different story!

Anni, if you're gonna get a MK4 GTi, thats the one to get, lovely example mate, good luck.

Cheers for the kind comments guys.

Ah yes... the age old T vs R debate

I have both, and my T is well mapped with Custom Code. Masses of torque which the R can't touch.
Off the lights, and handling wise the R is king, but mid range acceleration is where the T shines...

You're welcome to come and have a go and see for yourself

Desi, a normal Mk4 GTI is only 150bhp. The Anniversary is a totally different car, they cannot really be compared.

I had the very same 1.8t Anni (build number 321) but with a Revo and it WAS QUICK. They are 180 stock and mine was mapped to 215/220 i think?

To say that the R will spank it shouldnt be said to loud! Of course the R ticks more boxes overall BUT a well modded 1.8t is rapid!

That was also the 3rd set of wheels it had had from VW

My 25th Anniversary, gone but not forgotten. R.I.P.

I hope you get to sell it. Thats a REALLY REALLY REALLY good price!!

      SOLD :(
Very very sad to see it go.
The car was far superior to the R, a proper Golf, a proper GTI.
I think that black roofed interior is what does it on the Anni, no other MK4 has such a lush interior, the R feels so cold in comparison.

Thanks for all your help guys.

So if it was far superior to the R why get rid and keep the R?

I must admit that i do miss the Black roof lining from my Anni but thats about all i miss about it. They are wicked cars and i loved it soooooooooo much when i had mine but its not in the same division as the R. When you sit in the R you fell like the king (or queen).
