All the replica fibreglass cr4p on ebay won't have holes cut but simple job for the bodyshop. New bumpers from VW or online suppliers will have holes pre cut but your talking about £500 part. How bad is the split and whereabouts is it? It might be worth getting it repaired either by plastic welding or fibreglass behind crack. Would be so much cheaper and easy enough for bodyshop to sort out.

If i were you i would take it to your nearest bodyshop and ask them if they can repair it,i work in a bodyshop and we repair about 10 bumpers a week depending on how bad they are ask them to plastic weld it as some just fibreglass it and as soon as you hit a big bump it may crack again.

thanks guys, i found out that there was a crack and caught the hoover wire on it, looking closer they did a bodge job on it to repair it the first time, there is a six inch section that has been repaired with filler. and a lump of that is hanging off only held on by the paint, so black gaff on it to keep it together, the crack is right down the bottom near the left hand side vent, goes up about 4 inch's and 6 across. phoned my local vw dealer and they say they don't do a bumper with the holes pre cut? don't think it is worth repairing so any ideas. thanks

Is it a genuine bumper or replica? VW bumper definitely comes with the holes pre cut but as said before will cost you about £500. Get a picture up as its difficult to see how bad it is.

I would try and get a second hand one if you can but be carefull where you get it painted as sometimes the colour match is a little out,you have to pay for quality im afraid.
