Just a quick hello from me. The names Dave, 21 from Bouremouth, bit of an R32 fanatic. Looking at getting a mk iv between christmas and march, however the mk iv apeals more to me every time I look them up. Had a quote for £1400 which I dont thinks halve bad either. Rest assured I will be pestering all you members for info in the months prior to spending my hard earned cash on my own R32. Enough of my waffling, take it easy fellas

      Welcome onboard fella,

They are both excellent cars but obviously I am biased and will say take the mk4!

Take both for a test drive back to back and see what you think. Some great deals to be had on both at moment.

Check out the classifieds on this forum for mint mk4's that have already had milltek etc done to them (as they aren't cheap!)

Hope you find the one you want and post up some piccys when you get it.

In response to caxton01 and Mattchaps, damn right im goin' for DBP. Other prefrences inluded if I go for a mk iv, which is highly likely, are the 5 dr option and full black leather interior mmmmmm lovely. I'm also getting my hands on a '03 broucher tomorrow to give me more of an idea whats what when it comes to viewing

R32Ddub, its pretty much a done deal that I will be going for a mk iv, for me cost is the clincher. May well see what happens to prices when the mk vi is available. I'm probably off the mark, but was speaking to VWgroup today and I think they said it'll be December time when info is available on the mk vi

ive fallen in love with this one for the time being www.pistonheads.com/sales/683841.htm

It will no doubt be gone by the time I get the funds sorted

That looks like a good choice! I like the 5dr as it is more practical in the long run!!!

Dave if you go for that one , get it delocked as it has not been done

(I have not seen a 5 door R32 mk4 yet, Not sure if it was an extra £500 pounds to have a five door car from new ?, Unsure)

One step ahead of you there James, not just for the aesthetic value though, obviously a theft deterrent aswell. The plans are to also fit the carbonio CAI system, Cupra R front splitter, the best GPS tracker I can afford, and a laser diffuser to open my front gate!! I could write a list as long as my left arm for possible mods, but instead will let you all know about them in due course.

Yes it is best to get it delocked and as you say get extra security fitted to the car.

So you are going to get the above mods fitted asap then ?
