Hey fellas jus a quick couple of questions..

1. Whats involved in the 60k service? I have heard its a Intermediate service.

2. I got a service price for the above off my local vw and they quoted me £274 including a courtesy car. But then i rang my local vw specialist and they quoted me £140 but that didnt really include the haldex service. What are your opinions on this, is it worth shelling out extra for a vw service or go for the more reasonable price or a specialist?

Where do u guys get your R32 serviced?

I didnt use VW for my R's last service i used Awesome-gti.

While i do think using the dealers a good idea (only for service book stamps) i also think that as long as a good well known VW specialist has stamped your service book then thats ok to.

More often you'll get better service away from the dealer too. Just i do like to see named garages on those service book stamps when i look at buying a used car.

According to the manual you only need to service the haldex (oil and filter) every 40k miles.

Ive always had a bad experiance with all the main dealers ive used when it comes to service time so decided i would use specialist from now on with the .:R and just had my car done at Awsome and cannot fault them had my MOT done also just dropped it off left it with them and picked it up the next day clean mot'd and serviced oh and with a carbonio too lol, cost me about £550 for the lot inc labour/fitting the carbonio.

Full Service + Oil Flush: £200+vat = £230
MOT: £50
Carbonio: £165 + vat = £193 and fitting @ £49.50 = £243

All in about £525

I have jus booked my .:R (i love that hehe) at VW in Haywards Heath for a full service (as it appears it hasnt had its spark plugs changed) and brake fluid change and a courtesy car on there insurance (2 days) for £462

Cant believe the price difference on labour rates when u come out of london. Its a bit of a drive for me but i dont mind seeing i am saving under £200

Nurburgring here i come .... (leaving Sat morning )

Cant belive that price lol, i nearly died when VW told me how much, hence why i went for Awsome which is about 10 miles more from me than VW and saved about £230 on the service.

I want to go 'the ring' guess i will have to wait untill the next owners club outing lol. hope u have fun.

Stu.
