That's quite a project. If they've let the bodywork get that bad, what is the rest like mechanically. I'd be avoiding it, if it was me. You might find real horrors under the sill covers. Don't get hung up on low tax cars either, they can drink the difference in petrol in minutes. Find a better one would be my advice.

I think low tax appeals to everyone tbh!😁 But, buy the right car, not the right tax car. I've done similar to you in the past and made rash project purchases on bodywork tlc needed cars. It's alway the bodywork ones you will regret as you can't easily fix them yourself. It's much easier to learn and do mechanicals, especially now there's a guide on how to do most stuff on the net.
