Audi A3 3.2 Fuel Pump Relay - Heated O2 sensor fault
Hi All,
New to the forums and first time posting after nearly tearing my hair out with my Audi 3.2.
A little background to the fail is as follows:
- Regularly got temp sensor fault so fan would annoyingly run unless error cleared in OBD, easy enough and had no effect on the car running at all UNTIL…
- I went to clear the code last week and the OBD socket had no power going to it at all. Trying to stop the fan from running for some reason I pulled Relay 458 out, this stopped the fan from running until I could diagnose which fuse to replace for the diagnostics port.
-When replacing the fuse I accidentally pulled fuse 29 ECU Fuse (10a) instead of the correct Fuse 13 Diagnostics / Brake light.
- The dreaded PRNDS flashed at me along with a few other warning lights, I replaced both fuses and turned the ignition off.
- I then went to start the car and the fuel pump wouldn’t prime or run so I have a no start cranking situation.
- I have replaced the Fuel pump relay to no effect and I can start the car and run it by slaving a 12v to the fuel pump. This obviously runs it extremely rich as I’m getting white smoke from the exhaust which I suspect I unburnt fuel.
I have read online that there can be a J30 polarity reversal that relates to the oxygen sensors and the fuel pump relay but I’m not sure where I would start with this. I have attached the error codes I’ve got below. Please if you could spare any knowledge on this I would be extremely grateful. I’m reasonably competent with Auto Electronics and will try my best to understand wiring schem’s. Thanks I’m advance , Kieron
PS: The cooling fan seems to run intermittently for a few seconds at low speed every now and again; and I can also get the car to prime the fuel pump by resetting the ECU ( + & - connected for 10s) but it still won’t run after it initially starts ie. Fuel pump not supplying fuel.
