Been working on the car last 2 days and stupidly I've flattened my battery, I tried jumping it tonight with my GF dads r32 but wouldn't go, so just wanted to know can I charge the battery using the terminals under the bonnet for jumping or do I need to get right into the battery itself??

Any help would be appreciated.

You can charge the battery using the terminal under the bonnet and have done so myself.

Just make sure the charger you use is one that can charge the battery while still in the car, like an Optimate, CTEK etc...

Recharging this thread (terrible pun) can anyone let me know if this charger will suffice to do the job of recharging my bosch silver s5 in my mk4...I'm not very smart, sorry

Will charge your battery probably. But if the battery is dead it will charge but won't hold the charge.

I have a CTEK.

i use a ctek mxs5.0 and just about to buy another one for one of my other cars, great bit of kit and completely saved my old dead battery, did take 2 goes on the full recondition setting, but did the job.
