Anybody know of a good mechanic in the Belfast area? I'm happy to travel within a 50mile radius to get my car seen to by someone who knows their way round an R32.

I've totally lost faith with the VW garages here, none of them seem to know anything about R32s. They actually ask me what the car needs for its service. When I mention the likes of a Haldex oil/filter change, all I get is a blank expression from the service guy as though I'm talking a foreign language.

I've a few small niggles with the car that I want fixed, just want to make sure it's seen to by someone who knows what they are doing.

Appreciate any recommendations.

I've used Edwin May VW garage Portadown for past 5 years for mine and would recommend them.
They did my 40,000 service last year - seem to know their stuff.
Loaner car no problem.

I had the same worries when I spoke to Agnews about servicing mine and when I asked them about changing DSG oil the mechanic didn't know what I was talking about. I use a local mechanic in Ards who is a VW specialist and really knows his stuff. They don't do courtesy cars and it isn't fancy or anything like that but he done all the work on my Corrado and also my R and does a fantastic job at a good price. He is passionate about the specialist VWs like the R so he always works on it himself or his head mechanic. Couldn't recommend him highly enough. PM me if you want his details.
