Afternoon

Not really sure where to post this, but here goes....

I've had my R32 (2004 MK4) for nearly a week and I want to turn off the alarm plips, enable full closure and get a new key coded (car was only supplied with one).

I understand VAG Tacho can program new keys and do the other bits, but as I'll be paying VW £200 to do a new key for me, are they able to do the alarm plip and FC whilst they're there?

I don't want to pay 400 Euros for Vag Tacho because I'll only use it once!

Cheers

Will do, cheers!

Yeah, my brain is on a day off today and I couldn't think of a better, more descriptive title!

I've got the proper Ross Tech full monty Hex+Can VCDS but I gather that can't be used with VAG Tacho and vice versa. £600 in two sets of leads and software is just silliness imo, but I'm happy to VCDS people in the North Essex / Suffolk area.

I'm back lol.

Yes alarm chirps and auto lock doors are done with VCDS. Keys are also coded with VCDS if you have your SKC code.

If you don't have the SKC, Vag Tacho is used to read it so you can write it down and use it in VCDS for key coding.

VDS Pro (not VCDS or ag Tacho) is required for auto windows by fob.

Forgive my ignorance, SKC code? Only had my R a week

So I need 3 different softwares and leads to do all the jobs! That's why I asked if dealers could do it as it would be cheaper!
SKC is Secret Key Code. The four digit code that your car's immobiliser uses. Vag Tacho can read this.

No the cheapest option is to drive to Yorkshire and let me do the whole lot for you for cheap.
