a mate of mine has just been stopped for having a decat pipe, what fine or whatever do you think hes gonna get slapped with?

Don't think he'll get points, probably just a fine and have to take the car to a MOT station to get signed off witbin 14days after getting cats fitted.

I think he will have been issued with a Vehicle Defect Rectification Notice as basically the car is not roadworthy as it won't pass tne emissions test specified as part of the MOT.

If he's lucky that's all he's got but probably a Fixed Penalty fine too.

To be honest Police normally don't bother too much about decats so he's either just unlucky or he's wound them up.
