As the thread say. - can lock the doors with the key fob but cannot open the doors unless I use the key in the lock. Bloody annoying.

Had anyone had this problem?

Had problem when one died, so used the spare, spare died and then I left it too long and it lost the program for the immob when it was dead, had to recode it!

Hi my original key did this and I used my spare I then decided I wanted 2 keys again so bought a fob bit from eBay for 12 quid when I got it I took the remote bit off my original key stretching and bending it, and for some reason bending it fixed it and it now works so .

Bend if as if to snap it bit don't and see if
It fixes it ?

Mrs P's A3 is doing this. The lock and boot open buttons work, but not the unlock. Weird how 2 out of 3 are OK...

Aside from the battery, MK4s also suffer from central locking mechanism breaking, with the circuit board in the microswitch and the solder snapping.
