I was just wondering today, since we can check the various tolerances of certain components via Vag-Com/VCDS on many aspects of the car, it got me thinking..

Is there a way to tell how cold the climate is supposed to blow in (degrees C) at it's coldest??..

Is there a way to tell if it's running at optimum temp via the secret codes in the climate display or VCDS and whether these values give a clue as to how much % it's lost in refrigerant?? How often are they supposed to be re-gassed?

I've had a look through the multitude of codes listed and there could be a few that it could be.. Has anyone else measured this or have a top figure for what it should be??

I guess there should be something to look at in the VCDS. The Mk6 controller doesn't have the LCD displays so I cant check it that way. There are a couple of important gas pressures with an AC system. If the gas gets to low, the system should stop working as it cuts power to the compressor. If he temperature sensors in the cabin go faulty, then the temps will be off. VCDS may show intermittent errors for the sensors if they are going faulty.

good luck rdh..took my to our local specialists for a re-gas as it was blowin out hot air!,,technician told me that it had gas already as he was re-gassing and that after putting her on vag.com [showing no faults whatsoever] said that it was the pump and i need a new one as still blowin hot-car,,three days later whilst having her washed i switched on the air-con and its blowin cold and has not stopped blowin out cold air ever since,,
a very strange one,,it would appear [as nobody was able to diagnose for sure] no use by the previous owner during winter up onto i bought her so tooks it time gettin running again?,,so i will ensure to use the air-con during winter but good luck rdh,,,hope you have better luck then i did but main thing is, its working perfectly now,,,jason p

Oh i don't have a problem with mine Jason, it's blowing cold like a good 'un... It's just the geek in me would like to know what the coldest temp it gets to is, and if there is a way of measuring or checking it on Vag-Com..

Check with a probe, it's around 4oc if all is healthy. As far as I know there's no internal thermometer
