Just intrigued on how much people have paid to have the clutch and flywheel changed including parts and labour?

and also who did you use/recommend for the work?

Have you priced a genuine clutch and release bearing from Vw ?

I'm sure I was quoted around £200 for clutch and £70 for release bearing
You will find a lot of garages will charge most if not all days labour
My price was all in total my advice is to give them a call and see today's prices

Supply the part yourself from the likes of Euro Car Parts using the 25% forum discount and then its 8 hours to fit at a specialist usually

No way an R32 clutch is £400 fitted. £250 for parts, minimum, leaving £150 divided by 8 = £18.75 per hour labour. Labour at decent indies was £35-£40 10 years ago. It's around £50-£60 now.

My clutch and flywheel was £1000 using LUK (genuine) parts fitted by a specialist in London.

Ok I've spoken to midland Vw they will replace a clutch in a R32 for under £500 useing genuine parts inc labour .
Not sure on flywheel costing at mo

I don't know how they are able to do it for that price, but fair enough. They either have a very cheap hourly rate, or do it in half the time of other places.

Guy who done mine said it took him 3 to 4 hours max
All I can say is I take my car to them for the last 6 years they only use genuine parts and I've never had a issue with them it's now your call weather you want to use them or not I can only tell of my experience and what they said cost are

AmD essex can do the the clutch in 5 hours all done. It 60quid and hour there.
