Hopefully I'll be upping the motors power in autumn, (once the growing collection of parts in the spare room has important additions..ie turbo n intercooler) so I'm thinking it'll be wise to sort a new clutch while I'm getting the work done, what are you lads with f/i using?
It's gonna be a daily driver, so as close to oem feel as possible really..

What's the feel of it like chris? Heavy? Our lass has to drive mine from time to time n she's just a little delicate thing!

Most people seem to use the uprated Sachs unit with a SMF. All depends on your budget really as personally i would say the ClutchMaster FX850 that i have on my car now is the best clutch i have ever used.

I use the Sachs racing clutch and it's a good clutch...I did manage to shatter a pressure plate tho...lol...I am just in the process of ordering the FX850 for when it needs changing again.

It feels completely oem even with the single mass flywheel. My mate struggled with it a little and my lass ain't driven the car but I thought it was spot on

I've heard the standard mk5 clutch is stringer than mk4, don't think I'll take the risk tho , not like its a quick/easy job..

Still running the OEM clutch in my MK5................37,000 miles & over 20,000 boosted

take it you dont do any launches? looked up the fx series, look lush, but christ they pricey, suppose you get what you pay for....

I've launched mine a few times and still holding strong.

That's the beauty of the Rotrex nice and smooth.

Mines running 460 Bhp.

Probably done 3 or 4 proper launches over the years...................as Nigp said the Rotrex power delivery is really smooth throughout the rev range, makes the clutches life a lot easier

I can't remember what mine is as slightly drunk but is good for about 500ftlb I think
