They'll offer you 16K then sell it for 20K :xD:xD
Take the hint, its not really the best time to try to sell/trade in anything big engined! Deffinately a time to sit on it and let the world settle.
the problem is the oil prices and food prices are here to stay! too many people for the planet to cope with 6.5+ billion ....
Who the hell offered that? A dealer? Clearly a wishful thinker...
unfortunately with the current fuel prices and insurances cost on the R32 I am not surprised! I was told this by the VW Dealer when I purchase my V5 Golf years ago, the bigger the engine the cheaper it is. at the time a 1.6 Golf on the forecourt was cheaper than my 2.3ltr V5 Golf
same thing happened to me mate manged to 19k for it though from another dealer then they put it up for 21,750.

Audi.. i was going to buy an RS4.. a bit of an impulse, i have no reason to sell the R32 as i love it.. but got a big lust for the RS4!.

I have to say,, i am not doing it now..lol
The last but one car we part-ex'd was traded for £9.5k and retailed for £12,995. I guess the service it, put a years warranty on it and stick it on their forecourt with the words "VW Approved".
The dealer always wins in a deal, thats life.
This is not the best time to sell... as it has already been said. The market place is not good as people cant get mortgages at the moment let alone buy a car. The fuel prices are giving the big CC cars a hiding and then theres the tax etc.

It is going to take a while until the market place levels out.

The stealers will be making a killing about now as when it does turn around our cars will be worth the money we expect.

Best advice.... sit tight and look after your car !
Just sold an FRP last weekend and could have sold it 5 times over; so no problems with cash availability for those looking for a mint FRP! Equally, I found a mint R32 and was willing to pay for it :blushed:
that said if you are a buyer its a good time to buy hence I am now the proud owner of an R32 and no longer the owner of a GTi. The insurance was only £100 more, the CC I get to expense and the same with business mileage.

£20153... ¬¬" i am not impressed with the price they gave me!
i was quoted 1400 for an old lexus via webuyyourcar.com. fair enough but they wanted the car for an hour to inspect it. made me realise they would bash the price further so bunged it on ebay and sold it for more within 3 days.

sellling an R32 privately shouldnt be too difficult i guess.
Don't forget this thread is over a year old.
R's weren't good news then now they seem to be increasing a bit in price!
