Hi guys
There are other threads but are more specific so i may not get the replies i need
Would appreciate a biginner's explanation of the difference between lowered springs and collovers? Seems you can buy both on aftermarket websites. What would be the reasons for buying springs rather than coilovers?
Also - my r32 steering has developed that clicking / groaning noise that seems to be common when there is play in the top mounts. Hence car has to go in somewhere for work, hence why I am looking at upgraded suspension for the first time (ever)
But seems there is nowhere to buy equivalent performance mounts or anything. And few of the coilovers come with them?
Whats best here? Do I invest in coilovers with mounts, do I get mounts from VW, do I just get the mounts for now and see if it cures the noise issues?
I am not really looking to lower my car, perhaps a touch maybe 10mm but not so low that its real noticeable and riding with the wheel right up in the arches..... I would be more interested in performance / stability. But I would not want it too firm so that its bone-breakingly uncomfortable.
I have come to VW from BMW and feel the car rides higher and is a bit less balanced in the corners, bit noisy and rattly on bumps etc, so I am wondering about some new suspension set up to really set the car, enjoy the car some more, but without compromising comfort too much
all input reallyt appreciated
