Im finally getting around to getting this installed and its got me thinking into upgrading the speakers while Im at it.
After a bit of reading its sounds as though its not worth doing anything to the rear so Ill stick with the fronts only. A local car audio shop recommended morel maximo 6.5" components in the front doors but mentioned nothing about running them through an amp.
Is it worth getting a little 2 channel amp and if so, can you recommend one?
Alternatively, the cheaper option is to get some straight forward 6.5" coaxial speakers and just replace the existing speakers without worrying about fitting an amp and crossovers etc. This would be my first choice as its cheaper but will it be worthwhile?
Lastly, it a dumb question, I can just sense it (I'm new to car audio) what stops me from using the maximo 6.5" speaker on its own and keeping the existing tweeter?
