Hi guys.any input please.earlier this year i had kinetix drilled an grooved front discs and brembo pads fitted on my mk4.everything was fine at first but recently i have noticed a very rapid clicking noise when driving.it seems to be the nearside wheel (front).it i audible at about 30mph and above.if you turn to the right it stops ,turn left and its more pronounced.straight and its like a racing noise if that makes sense.when i apply the brakes you can hear the pads clicking over the discs.the problem noise is the same as this but fainter and less definate if that makes sense.i took it to a local garage and the bloke said all that type of discs do that and his mitsubishi evo is like it but i dont think its right and it never used to do it.worth mentioning i had a leaking cv boot on passenger side at the last mot. Please any suggestions as its drivin me mad!!!!

I had a clicking/creaking noise at low speeds especially when the car had been driven for a bit and was warm. I have the Tar Ox 10 pot GT callipers and pads with the grooved 340mm disks.
Yesterday I stripped it all out, cleaned and re-greased with copper grease. No noise since.
Maybe worth a try.

Grooved dimpled discs make the clicking noise that gets louder when you brake,

It's the air shooting through the grooves, the more grooves you have the faster the noise sounds.

O.k.im not very mechanical.the noise isnt audible until you get to about 30.i just thought cv joint because it stops if you swerve to the right and gets louder to the left??its almost as if the disc isnt true when your driving straight and its rubbing on the pad causing a racing noise.might take it to rk engineering .the local garage said its normal but i know its not.

Think the creaking noise on mine may have been coming from the two piece disks that I stripped apart and cleaned. Yeah they make more noise when you brake but its more of a whirring/humming noise rather than clicking, unless there is a stone stuck in the pad.

Yeah ,i hit a pothole a while back and had to have the tracking done again.maybe something happened then.when you go to a garage to have it sorted and they tell you its normal, even when you know its not. They are the mechanics after all.so im no further ahead.

Simple test for a wheel bearing is to jack up the suspected wheel and then spin it whilst holding the coils of the spring behind. If the bearing has a rumble you'll hopefully feel the vibration in the spring...

Why does it stop when i turn one way and get more pronounced when i turn the other
If its a bearing it will be because the weight changes in it whe you turn it's like a hum when the bearing is gone

Hi guys, just to update, took it to a garage today the nearside disc has a slight warp in it causing the noise i mentioned.i suppose its my own fault for buying cheap discs.theyre kinetix discs.
I phoned tps and they quoted £190 a side but as im not a trade costomer they would be a bit cheaper for the garage.not sure how much though.
I cant help noticing the mintex and brembo discs on ebay for less than £ 200 for a pair .not going to have drilled an grooved again.has anyone tried these and does it sound too cheap please

Brembo discs are good, check euro car parts and use the 25% discount code r32oc25 and see what it chucks up
