Warning. Just got screwed for £305 on ebay on a set of headlights by beccapinks .http://myworld.ebay....984.m1497.l2754
"Michael, I'd like to thank you again for letting us know about what happened with your purchase. I admire your patience in resolving this concern, and I really appreciate your effort in trying to communicate with the seller. Upon checking on your account for this particular item number and have reviewed the case, taking into account the listing, the photos of the item and the communication between you and the seller. I can see you have cleaned off the item. Unfortunately, this is considered as altering the item and means it is no longer in the same condition as it was when you received it is. Because of this, it's no longer covered by eBay Buyer Protection and we're unable to close the case in your favour.

I understand this is disappointing. To avoid this from happening in the future, do bear in mind that, if you receive an item that differs from your seller's listing, you'll only be entitled to a refund if you can return the item in the same condition you received it."

I am not allowed to even leave negative feed back to say i am unhappy with the item.

So what's the deal? You needed to clean them up, on doing so realised you were not happy. Now FleaBay has washed their hands of it?!

Plugs that you connect the wiring harness on to where covered with green corrosion. I cleaned them off to get a good connection when testing the headlights as one of the ballasts didn`t work. Because i cleaned the plug off to try and solve the problem i am now left with these things even though they are broken internally as well as a knackered ballast and rusty reflectors!

Wow this sucks!

You cleaned the item.....and that voids your case as a buyer?

Yes. So from now on i clean and touch nothing and don`t try to do anything helpful if i buy anything on ebay to sort out any problem. I cannot even leave negative feed back or anything.

It would never get anywhere and not worth the hassle. I will just have to heat them up and split the headlights apart and clean them up. I have spare internals and ballasts laying about as the external condition is very good. Just bloody annoying that i try to get something to work then find they are obviously broken inside etc have pictures to prove it but still get screwed. I even took the headlights to a local auto electrican and go a report made stating the ballasts had been tested and one wasn`t working plus report on condition of the headlights. Come to think of it the sellers address was on the box with the delivery note. Now lets see how much spam post and cold callers i can arrange to arrive at the address ...

Why are you not allowed to give negative feedback? If the item wasn't as described then surely you can give your opinion of the item and seller.
Gutted for you as I know you have a very good rep on here.

Alan

We've removed the Feedback you left

Hello devonmikeyboy,
Recently, you opened an eBay Buyer Protection case for vw golf mk4 genuine R32 xenon headlights. We also received the Feedback you left for the transaction, but it's been removed from the seller's Feedback Profile because of a recent decision on the eBay Buyer Protection case.
You can always view the case details in the Resolution Centre or learn more about eBay Feedback

Seems to me that it's eBay that should be avoided, not just the seller. The whole site appears to be awash with scam artists these days. I barely use it myself, but if I was buying something worth more than a few quid I would be wanting to see it before handing over the readies...

They turned up and i wired them in using an extended wiring harness. One didn`t work so all i did was clean the corrosion off the plug to try and get it to work like i would expect anyone to try or ask them to try if i sold a set of headlights but that then means you have no ebay protection. Basically if you want to scam anyone on ebay just ask them to clean a part of the item to check something and your free to scam people at will ....

Based on that like most have said i would have bought them also, sound like a good set of lights to be honest!

Forgot to mention maybe the fact that bulb holders had shat themselves and melted!

Sorry to hear this buddy, some people are just scum and make a living scamming others..........
