engine light

hi guys

my R32 problem

my engine light came on randomly one day so went to my mates garage and we checked it on vcds

the fault code is 001112 - evap system purge control (n80)

P0458-002-short to ground -mil on

so i replaced the purge control valve as i thought that was the problem light still on after reset

so he checked the wiring to the purge valve ..ok
wiring to the ecu ...ok
checked the wiring when running ..purge valve is opening and closing as it should

its just this light fault ...

the car runs fine but the management light stays on its like the ecu isnt talking to the clocks and wont reset

any ideas would be appreciated
