Did you also remove the valve at the back of the head and blank off the port to the exhaust ? If not, the valve will open and exhaust will try to block back towards the SAI pump. At least disconcert the solenoid that opens the valve but best to get the delete kit and block off the port .

hm… the car is currently parked at a gas station (with permission) and i just went back to try to fix it. I scanned it for codes and go a bunch of MAF, throttle, and secondary airflow stuff. cleared the codes and everything and then made sure everything was connected.
then took it to drive but it went right back into limp mode and threw the epc light.

Sounds like you have something else disconnected or unplugged. Unplugging the Secondary air pump shouldn't have affected that stuff. Its on a completely different circuit. Did you pull any fuses? The secondary air pump circuit runs off of a big 40amp fuse in the main panel under the hood. Make sure you don't have an intake pipe off or something stupid like that. Also check fuse #10 its a 10Amp fuse in the fuse panel under the hood. It sends power to Pin2 of the MAF sensor. Do you have Vag-Com? If so, first; do a capacitive discharge by disconnecting the battery cables at the battery in the back (the cover requires an 8mm triple square). Touch the 2 leads together and hold them there for 30 seconds or so and then hook them back up. Go into "Basic settings" in the ECM (address 01). Enter "60" and the "ON". That should re-adapt the throttle body. If that happens successfully you're OK.

There is a way to manualy readapt it that works sometimes but not all the time. 1st do the capacitive discharge how I described it. Then without starting the engine, turn the key on for 30 seconds, and then off for 1 min. Do this a minimum of 4 times. You should hear the throttle body actuating with the engine is off so that it can remember where the throttle is set. If you don't hear the throttle body actuating then there may be a problem with it and it just happened to malfunction when you unplugged the Secondary air pump. It happens.
