Anybody else read this yet? 10 tyres tested (17/235/45) on mk 5 GTi.... My ContisportContact 3s came in 3rd out of 10... Eagle F1s came top, but you may be surprised about the rest....

thats good to hear eagles came in the best.

What did they test for?

But im always very very sceptical of magazine tests as the writer will have a biased oppinion. A bit like a football journo writing about a game.

Yea, I read all of this test. Not sure about the asymmetrical Eagles though, different to the regular F1s I used to use...

Pretty thorough test IMO - tested in wet (lap times and lateral G), for aqua planing, braking distance (wet and dry), dry handling (lap times and lateral G), road route (real world driving)... A good read.... overall results:

1) Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric
2) Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta
3) Continental ContiSport Contact 3
4) Bridgestone Potenza RE050-A
5) Michelin Pilot Sport PS2
6) Pirelli PZero Nero
7) Kumho Ecsta STP KU31
8) Dunlop Sport Maxx
9) Yokohama S. Drive

Actually 9 tyres, not 10 like I said before....

My question would be - is this a good representation of what would be best for a 4wd R? Do suitable tyres for 4wd cars differ from the best for 2WD?
