Having never owned a VW, all my last cars have been 4x4 though, i'm a bit of a Rally fan and these cars [R32] do seem to tick all the right box's for a more modern car we are looking for, i have probably got a million questions i would like to ask before buying, regarding R models, 4Motions ect ? think maybe test driving one from a dealer would be a start ? and do all R32 come with these goodies, Paddle shift ?, 4 door ? leather trim? same engine spec as standard? ect
As a first time buyer i hope you can point me to the right one and possibly one that will hold its value the best ? Any help appreciated folks, believe it or not we have a litre polo, which i have fun driving, which was the reason we looked into this car, thinking if this is so fun to drive, what would one of thses go like.

I personally drive an Integrale and have a long line of history of cars, mainly old skool rally rags.
Thanks again people, your time is appreciated. Darren.

Welcome to the forum.

All DSG models have paddle shift.

Leather is a factory option, therefore there are a few cars witb cloth interiors.

There are 3 door and 5 door models.

One thing to note the R32 4wd is a Haldex based system which basically reacts to the front wheels slipping and then transferring drive to the rear.

Thanks for that info Bob, we have also looked at the R model which looks a nice car too, apparently 2ltr with Supercharger ? Other than these extras, i presume they are simlar to the R32?
Seen this one on PH ?

That's a Mk6 Golf R which has a 2.0 litre 4 cylinder with a Turbocharger, not supercharger, which superceded the MK5 R32

It has slightly more power and torque that the Golf MK5 R32 but doesn't have the character of the 3.2 V6 of the R32, IMO, although a little more up to date. Slightly better fuel economy.

Well looks like I dropped lucky, our local VW dealer has an Open Day Thursday afternoon in town, guess what, they have a R32 for me to test drive, the bloke there has been also good enough to bring an R model down with him too, we shall see Thursday, can't wait now.
