Hi guys ..

I've always had quotes on comparison websites for several R32's, M3's, Porsche's etc - always coming out around the £1,500-£2,000 mark.

Just yesterday (09/03/2013) the best price I got was approximately £1600, out of around 25 different insurers. Today (10/03/2013) I click "view quote and buy" on the e-mail they sent me (therefore not changing ANYTHING on the quote) & it refreshed the price page with only ONE insurer offering me a quote at ................... wait for it ................... £16,645 !!!!!!

How is this possible ?????

You can only imagine how completely gutted I'm feeling if the prices stay this way - as there's no way I'm gonna be able to afford a decent performance car.

Any help or advice with this would be more than greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Ins companies are all over the place, I have a pic of 2 identical quotes from the same ins co and the prices are very different lol. Makes no sense... Just keep trying I guess

I don't know your personal driving history, but it does sound quite excessive
Call the ones on here or go through an other broker on the phone - ie a real person
Worth a call, as you quite simply will not pay £16k for car insurance!!

Go to green light or adrian flux matey and they will sort you out. Tbh the standard high street underwriters dont understand this market and should be placed with a specialist.

To give you an idea my premium is around 500 quid fully comp with 6/7 yrs no claims. Thats via greenlight. They have always been cheapest for me!

Hope this helps and good luck!

I had a surprise this week when I went insure my runaround mk3 gti. Usually it's about 350 but this time got it for 180!! This was online with Swiftcover.
Maybe their making it cheaper for us oldies and hitting you younger guys. Insurance premiums are a bitxh and really feel for you.

Cheers buddy, nice one. Would you recommend ringing them or just doin an online quote ??
I originally did it online with greenlight, but certainly worth a 15 min call as they will be able to tell you best deals straight away.

Good luck and let us know how you get on!
