Alright guys quick question. My mum is scrapping her car today and there is half a tank of regular unleaded in it so obviously I was wondering if I could take it. I know alot of you run on normal fuel but mines has always been run on tesco momentum or shell vpower ( since I've had it anyway ) I'm also FI so don't know if that would make a difference, I've got a quarter of a tank in mines at the moment. Hopefully someone can help quick before it goes lol.

I'd just siphon out a quarter tank, and use the rest kicking the absolute tits out of the car across a local wasteland! Then fill it up with as much junk as possible and maybe saturate the rear seat and passenger seat with water for a few extra kilo, then drive that puppy in there with her ass well and truly hanging out!! After all she's never getting driven again so you may as well have some fun, maybe perfect your J turn skills ????

Sounds like a fair price! Scrap has just gone down a little, I scrapped a P reg corsa for £160 last year, bought it for 200 and drove it for nearly a year only ever putting water and petrol in it ???? ps if you do siphon it out, don't take it down into the red you really don't want the shit at the bottom of her tank in yours!!

nobody asked when the car was last run. My mate siphoned fuel out of his old car he was scrapping and put it in his new car. The new car ended up in the garage lol. Mechanic told him the fuel was "off". It all depends on how long the fuels been left and in what conditions/environment. If its a car that's been run up until now you should be fine. If the car was much older I'd prob stay clear personally. I wouldn't want petrol from a 20 year old tank in my 4 year old tank but that's just me

The car was last driven 2 days ago so the fuel is fine. Yea if it was a metal tank I wouldn't have took it but it was a plastic tank and the fuel I took looked clean so it's all good

Oh that's good. I was worried as you didn't say when the car was last used. My mates car he was scrapping hadn't been started for 4 or more years lol. I had visions of your mum scrapping a 20 year old car car that hadn't been driven for 5 years

Aw haha yea I wouldn't have took old fuel. The car was just throwing up more problems and wasn't worth the hassle
